Personalized Hearing Health Assessment

Our exclusive Personalized Hearing Health
Assessment (PHHA) puts you in control of deciding the
best solution for your individual hearing needs. By
completing this simple assessment, you provide your
Beltone hearing care professional with important
information needed to make the right recommendations for
your lifestyle. Your Beltone hearing care professional
will review the results of your PHHA assessment with you
and will give you a hearing screening to find out
whether or not you have a hearing loss. He or she will
then consult with you on next steps for your hearing
care needs.
Video Ear Scan

Using a tiny magnifying camera, a Beltone Hearing Care
Practitioner inspects the inside of your ear canal and
eardrum. You will be able to observe this process on a
computer screen and you will be able to see if there is
an excessive buildup of earwax or some other sort of
blockage that could be causing a problem with your
hearing. Sometime correcting your hearing loss can be as
simple as removing the earwax.
Comprehensive Audiometric Hearing Test

A Beltone Hearing Care Practitioner will conduct a
computerized audiometric test of your hearing. The test
will tell you exactly what you are hearing and what you
are not by measuring your hearing at different sound
levels and your understanding of speech in different
listening environments.
The Beltone Hearing Care Practitioner will guide you
through the following steps of the test:
-
Speech Understanding
Assessment
This test will determine how well you can understand
spoken words in both quiet and noisy environments.
-
Word Discrimination Test
This test checks your ability to recognize and
repeat spoken words.
-
Pure Tone Test
This test precisely measures hearing ability across
the full spectrum of sound. If your hearing is
within normal range, the hearing test is complete.
-
Bone Conduction Test
If your hearing isn't normal, this test determines
whether hearing difficulty is the result of an inner
or middle ear function problem.
-
Ear Anatomy
We'll explain in detail how your ear works so you
fully understand your test results.
After your assessment and evaluation,
your Beltone hearing care professional records the
results of your hearing evaluation on an audiogram. He
or she will then share the results with you to show you
what you’re hearing and what you are missing.
